Brampton Golf Club to host the 11th playing of the world championship,
featuring 24 teams and 72 competitors
BRAMPTON, Ont. – The final field is now set ahead of the 11th playing of the World Junior Girls Golf Championship, presented by BFL CANADA, featuring 23 countries and 72 players competing at Brampton Golf Club in Brampton, Ont.
In total, 24 teams will battle for the team championship while also competing for individual honours, with the individual champion earning an exemption into the 2027 CPKC Women’s Open, taking place at The Royal Ottawa Golf Club in Gatineau, Que., August 18-22, 2027.
The field features seven players in the top 100, 15 players in the top 250 and 29 in the top 500 on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). For an in-depth look at the full field including teams and players and additional tournament information. Please click here.
Golf Canada previously announced the six competitors that will represent Team Canada at the tournament. Team Canada I will be represented by Clairey Lin of Langley, B.C. (no. 45 WAGR), Shauna Liu of Maple, Ont. (no. 55 WAGR) and Nobelle Park of Oakville, Ont. (no. 412 WAGR). Both Lin and Liu were part of Team Canada I the past two years, earning silver medals with the team. Individually, Lin finished T3 in 2025 and T16 in 2024 and Liu has a pair of individual top 10s, finishing T9 (2025) and T7 (2024). Park will be making her second appearance in the championship, she finished T18 individually in 2024. Park claimed her spot on Team Canada I after winning the 2026 Team Canada – NextGen Selection Camp last week at Beacon Hall Golf Club in Aurora, Ont. Team Canada I will be led by Team Canada – NextGen Girls Head Coach, Jeff MacDonald of Chester, N.S.
Team Canada II will feature Jodie Han of Vancouver, B.C. (no. 163 WAGR), Eileen Park of Red Deer, Alta. (no. 467 WAGR) and Ruihan Kendria Wang of Markham, Ont. (no. 674 WAGR). Han will be making her first appearance this year. Park will be making her fourth appearance and last year along with Wang was part of Team Canada II’s best finish in tournament history (6th). Wang also finished T28 individually last year and will be making her second championship appearance. Team Canada II will be led by Team Canada – NextGen Girls Assistant Coach, Katie White of Stratford, P.E.I.
The Republic of Korea enter as defending champions after winning their fourth championship last year in St. Catharines, Ont., becoming the first team to win back-to-back titles. Team Canada I and Spain tied for second with France and England finishing tied for fourth. Charlotte Naughton of England earned individual honours.
The Republic of Korea are the most successful team in tournament history. In addition to four championships, the team has also finished as runner-up three times (2016, 2017, 2023).
Along with the Republic of Korea and Canada, four additional past champions are also in the field including, Italy (2018), Spain (2017, 2022), the Philippines (2016) and the United States (2014). In the 10-year history of the tournament, aside from the host nation, five other countries have participated in every tournament including: England, Italy, Mexico, Spain and Sweden.

Several players who have competed in the World Junior Girls Golf Championship have gone on to great success on the LPGA Tour. Canadian Brooke Henderson, a 14-time LPGA Tour winner and Canada’s winningest professional golfer, finished fourth in the individual competition at the inaugural championship in 2014.
Other notable competitors who went on to become LPGA Tour winners include Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand who won back-to-back World Junior titles in 2018 and 2019 as well as Yuka Saso of the Philippines who won the 2016 World Junior title. Other former World Junior competitors who have gone on to win on the LPGA Tour include Hannah Green of Australia, Maja Stark and Linn Grant of Sweden and 2023 CPKC Women’s Open winner, Megan Khang of the United States.

Brampton Golf Club will host the World Junior Girls Golf Championship for a second time, having previously hosted the event in 2023.
That year marked Team Canada I’s thrilling gold medal finish following a three-way battle with the Republic of Korea and the United States. Team Canada I, led by coach Jeff MacDonald, was represented that year by Vanessa Borovilos (Etobicoke, Ont.), Anna Huang (Vancouver, B.C.) and Vanessa Zhang (Vancouver, B.C.).
In hosting this year’s championship, Brampton becomes the third club to host multiple World Junior Girls Golf Championships, joining The Marshes Golf Club in Ottawa, Ont. (2015, 2017) and Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, Ont. (2014, 2019, 2022).
The prestigious Brampton Golf Club has hosted several high-profile provincial and national championships. Brampton Golf Club was named the Club Management Association of Canada (CMAC) Club of the Year in 2023 and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2021.

Practice rounds for the 72-hole competition will take place September 28 with the first round of play set for Wednesday, September 30. The tournament’s closing ceremony will immediately follow the conclusion of play on Saturday, October 3.
